The Obvious Solution to BC’s Pathetic World Class Oil Spill Response

We need to move to the post-carbon energy infrastructure now. The Heiltsuk are enduring the collateral damage of us not doing so. And they will for years to come.

We need to leave the climate change oil juice in the ground, we need to stop the oil and gas government subsidies so we can subsidize clean energy, and we need to stop the pipeline/refinery/tanker addiction.

This video shows how inadequate the spill response is, compounded by the fact that the tug that sank had a great deal of diesel fuel, but the fuel barge in tow was empty. What if it were full, and ran aground? What if it were one of the hundreds of new tankers that our governments want to travel our coast?
