As we watch Obama end his 2nd term as president we need to be mindful of the increasing Soft Fascist America that he perpetuated.
An America that decreases its respect for democracy creates the conditions for how Amy Goodman, a journalist, was charged with rioting just for doing journalism.
We need to stand up for a world where dignity and truth are valued and championed!
“It is a great honor to be here today,” Goodman said outside the courthouse as Democracy Now! cameras rolled. “The judge’s decision to reject the state’s attorney Ladd Erickson’s attempt to prosecute a journalist—in this case me—is a great vindication of the First Amendment and of our right to report.”
Goodman expressed relief, and vowed to continue to “fight to ensure that the First Amendment is protected,” she told the Bismarck Tribune, while her attorneys maintained that the charges were without merit.
“It was never a case. The trespass charge was frivolous,” said her attorney Tom Dickson, according to the Bismarck Tribune, adding that the rioting charge “was beyond salvation.”

Astonishing the number of FB posts and Tweets that suggest that an Obama third term would be the end of all the Hilarity and Trumpishness because, golly, he’s just been so darn good. In so many ways, he’s carried on the legacy of GWB and perpetuated the “good works” started by Nixon and Reagan. The system is corrupt, and had Obama tried to live up to the promise of the original Hope and Change, he’d be eating dandelions by the roots, I suspect.
Which is why Obamacare is so far from Canada’s Medicare. Can’t take the golden goose away from the medical insurance industrial complex.
